When the Municipality of Älmhult relaunched together with InfoCaption, the goal was to create a shared space for knowledge that all employees could access. By integrating InfoCaption with their Sitevision intranet, they have built a living knowledge hub where information and guides come together—right in everyday work.
When the Municipality of Älmhult reviewed its use of InfoCaption, the goal was to get more value out of what was already in place. The system had been existing for several years, but its adoption varied across departments. The Social Services Department had been the most active user of InfoCaption, while other parts of the organization had yet to get started.
To change that, an open InfoCaption forum was launched where all employees were welcome to participate and share ideas. The discussions led to a shared realization: the knowledge that already existed needed to be made visible and accessible to more people. At the same time, the municipality was preparing to launch a new intranet, which opened up new possibilities. The combination became the starting point for a more cohesive knowledge hub.
A seamless connection to everyday work
Together with Soleil, the municipality has built an integration in Sitevision that makes InfoCaption’s content fully searchable directly within the intranet. This means that employees can not only find guides but also processes when searching for something, for example time off. A single search brings up both information about rules and regulations, the guide showing how leave is registered in the time-reporting system, and the process describing the entire workflow.
In addition to search results, it is also possible to add direct links on intranet pages, for example a button on the leave page that leads to the correct guide. When new guides are created and linked to the appropriate category in InfoCaption, they automatically appear in the intranet without any extra effort. In this way, knowledge grows organically and becomes available where it is actually being used.
A growing knowledge hub
For Älmhult, it’s not just about technology. it’s about creating a culture of shared knowledge.
"We wanted to make the guides visible where employees are actually searching for information. The benefit is that everyone can now find what they need in one place. That’s also why we chose to call our InfoCaption Kunskapsbanken (The Knowledge Hub)", says Niclas Lindblom, Web Coordinator in Älmhult.
The new structure allows different departments to contribute content and develop the material together. The Knowledge Hub grows as more guides are created and over time becomes a shared hub for learning and support.

Launching this autumn
The launch is taking place this autumn, and the final adjustments mainly involve connecting all departments to the shared structure.
"Most of the technical setup is in place. Now it’s about getting the whole organization on board. We’ll probably need to tweak some details along the way, but that’s part of the development process," says Niclas.
The result is a modern Knowledge Hub where employees can find both answers and support in one place. It saves time, reduces duplication, and makes it easier to share knowledge across the organization.
Well done, Älmhult, and congratulations to Guide of the Month, from all of us at InfoCaption!
Älmhult Municipality awarded Guide of the Month
Each month, we at InfoCaption select a Guide of the Month - a guide we want to highlight for the value it creates within an organization. As a token of appreciation to the person or team behind the Guide of the Month, we donate SEK 1,000 to Hand in Hand Sweden, an organization that fights poverty through creating more jobs in vulnerable countries. Hand in Hand works with the “help to self-help” model, which aligns well with InfoCaption’s own mission: "making it easier for employees to help one another".
